Senior petroleum analyst discusses Minnesota gas prices heading into the Memorial Day weekend

More than 37 million people are expected to travel over the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.  KAUS News spoke with Patrick DeHaan, Senior Petroleum Analyst with the website gasbuddy.com who talked about what travelers in southeastern Minnesota can expect for gas prices if they’re going to be on the road this weekend….

 

DeHaan went on to state that gas prices will likely continue to creep upward this summer with a higher demand for gasoline due to COVID-19 restrictions being lifted…

The current average price for a gallon of gas in Mower County is $2.92, which is the highest average price in the state at last word.  The lowest average price for a gallon of gas is currently in McLeod County in east central Minnesota at $2.72.  The statewide average for a gallon of gas is currently at $2.83, while the national average is at $3.03.
