Semi driver from Albert Lea involved in fatal two-vehicle accident on Interstate 90 in Winona County Wednesday evening

A semi driver from Albert Lea was involved in a fatal two-vehicle accident on Interstate 90 in Winona County Wednesday evening.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2006 Ford F150 pickup truck being driven by 87-year old Donald Joseph Suchla of Arcadia, Wisconsin was traveling eastbound on Interstate 90 at approximately 7:49 p.m. Wednesday evening when his vehicle collided head-on with a westbound 2018 Kenworth semi being driven by 67-year old Mark Peter Crom of Albert Lea at milepost 275 in Drebsbach Township.

Suchla was killed in the accident, while Crom was uninjured.  The State Patrol indicated that both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident, and the Winona County Sheriff’s Office, plus Gunderson and Tri-State Ambulance were among the agencies who assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene Wednesday evening.
