The Minnesota Legislature adjourned its second special session of 2020 early Tuesday morning, again without passing a $1.8 billion bonding bill for state public works projects.  State District 27B Representative Jeanne Poppe, DFL’er from Austin spoke with KAUS and stated that the main sticking point continues to be House Republicans refusing to vote for the bill until Governor Tim Walz relinquishes his COVID-19 emergency powers….

Poppe went on to state that local provisions in the bill, including a tax provision extremely important to local farmers and small businesses could get lost in the shuffle if the process drags on much further…

The governor’s backers say he’s responding appropriately to protect Minnesotans’ health as COVID resurges in some areas.
