Ruby’s Pantry distribution day in Austin to be held Thursday, April 16th at Mower County Fairgrounds

The next Ruby’s Pantry distribution day in Austin will be Thursday April 16th at the Mower County Fairgrounds beginning at 5:00 PM.  Bob Rosel, the Media Coordinator for Ruby’s Pantry in Austin stated to KAUS that they will be changing the way they distribute the food items due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. In order to make service safe for both volunteers and guests, Rosell stated that Ruby’s Pantry will be using a drive-thru method to get a bundle of food to those who donate….

Rosel went on to state that the idea of the drive-thru method for distribution is to maintain social distancing…

Rosel also gave the two main reasons as to why the distribution will be one bundle per vehicle, per trip through the line….

Rosel stated that guests should enter the fairgrounds at the South Entrance off of 8th Ave SW, and he added that there is always a need for volunteers, as during this crisis some of our elderly or those with medical conditions have chosen not to participate until the pandemic passes, so they are in need of more volunteers. If you have questions or would like to volunteer call Grace Lutheran Church at 433-3445.
