Rochester man sentenced to supervised probation on felony drug possession charge in Mower County District Court

A Rochester man facing a felony drug possession charge in Mower County District Court after a traffic stop on December 30th, 2020 has been sentenced to supervised probation and time in the sentence to service program.

34-year-old Stephen Normal Klopp was sentenced Friday to three years of supervised probation and 40 hours in the sentence to service program for a felony 5th degree drug possession charge.  A 13-month prison sentence was stayed for five years if Klopp complies with the terms of his probation, and he was convicted on the charge on April 6th of this year after pleading guilty the same day.

A misdemeanor charge for driving after cancellation, and a petty misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia in the case against Klopp were dismissed with his guilty plea.
