Rochester man sentenced to supervised probation in Mower County District Court for felony assaulting a correctional employee charge

A Rochester man who pleaded guilty in Mower County District Court to a felony charge for assaulting a correctional employee after an incident on May 31st, 2021 has been sentenced to supervised probation.  

32-year old Elvis Joko Porte, who was recently found guilty of 1st degree tampering with a witness and 5th degree assault in Olmsted County District Court after assaulting and robbing another man in the parking lot of the Apache Mall in Rochester was convicted and sentenced Thursday to four years of supervised probation for a felony charge of assaulting a correctional employee, probation officer, prosecutor or judge, demonstrable bodily harm. A 13-month prison sentence was stayed for four years if Porte complies with the terms of his probation, and he pleaded guilty to the charge on August 13th, 2021.

Two gross misdemeanor charges for 5th degree assault in the case against Porte were dismissed with his guilty plea.
