Rochester man sentenced to prison in Mower County District Court for felony charge of receiving stolen propertyty in Mowr

A Rochester man convicted in Mower County District Court for stealing a pull-type camper in Wisconsin and dropping it off in Dexter in October of 2018 has been sentenced to prison time.

46-year old Garrick Robert Sneed was sentenced Friday to one year and 11 months in prison, with credit for 318 days already served after pleading guilty to a felony charge of receiving stolen property.  Sneed must also pay $987 in restitution.  A felony charge for bringing stolen property into the state was dismissed with the guilty plea.

Sneed was arrested in October 2018 after the Mower County Sheriff’s Office reported that he dropped off a camper at a location in Dexter. The camper, which was valued at $15,000 had been reported stolen in La Crosse County, WI, where witnesses told authorities that it had been taken by someone driving a two-tone Ford F150 pickup truck. Sneed was seen driving the same kind of truck when he dropped off the camper.
