Rochester man sentenced to jail time, supervised probation on felony criminal sexual conduct charges in Mower County District Court

A Rochester man who sexually abused two children under the age of 13 in Mower County in September of 2014 has been sentenced to jail time, supervised probation, plus fines and fees in Mower County District Court.

37-year-old Daryl Robert Lavan was sentenced Tuesday to 90 days in jail, 15 years of supervised probation, just over $1,000 in fines and fees, or 100 hours of community work service for two felony charges of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct, victim under 13, actor 36 months or more older.  A 36-month prison sentence was stayed for 15 years if Lavan complies with the 21 different conditions of his probation, and he was given credit for 11 days already served.  Judge Christa Dailey also determined that Lavan will also be subject to 10 years of supervised release after confinement.

Lavan, who was taken into custody in April of 2021 pleaded guilty to the two charges on April 8th of this year after initially pleading not guilty on December 10th, 2021.
