Riverland men’s basketball team cruises past St. Mary’s JV 101-77
Montrell Jacobs rolled up 33 points, including going 7 of 11 from beyond the three-point arc to help lead the Riverland Blue Devils men’s basketball team to a 101-77 rout of St. Mary’s University JV at Riverland Gym Monday evening.
Austin High School alum Nyagoa Obany tallied a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and Keanan Butler led the Blue Devils bench in scoring with 17 points. Tate Hebrink, another AHS alum and Eddie Oyet each added 7 points and Terrell Smith and Steve Crosby each added 6 points.
Hayfield grad Drew Olive led St. Mary’s in scoring with 10 points. The Blue Devils are now 3-0 on the season, and they will now embark on a five game road trip starting Friday night in Hibbing against the Hibbing Community College Cardinals, with tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
