Representative Jeanne Poppe and House Majority Leader Ryan Winkler to host Austin cannabis listening session

Majority Leader Ryan Winkler and State District 27B Representative Jeanne Poppe, DFL’er from Austin will host a community conversation on cannabis this Saturday, December 7.  Community members are encouraged to weigh in with direct feedback on how to establish a responsible framework for adult-use cannabis legalization.

The meeting is one of several events hosted by Majority Leader Winkler and legislators around the state to encourage Minnesotans to join the conversation on how to possibly legalize and regulate cannabis for adult use. The meeting will be held this Saturday in the Austin City Council chambers from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Eleven states and Washington, D.C. have legalized cannabis for adult use. In an op-ed written in August, Rep. Winkler announced that legalizing cannabis for adult use will be a legislative priority during the 2020 legislative session.
