A Porter man who was found with 544 grams of methamphetamine, two plastic bags containing methamphetamine, one bag weighing 28.1 grams and the other 12.1 grams, a digital scale, two methamphetamine pipes and two MDMA pills after a traffic stop on January 17th in the 900 block of 4th Avenue Northeast in Austin has been sentenced to prison time in Mower County District Court.

34-year old Michael Phathaem was sentenced to 56 months in prison for a felony charge of first-degree drugs-possess 100 grams or more of methamphetamine. He received credit for 246 days served.

A felony fifth-degree drug possession charge, a gross misdemeanor charge for third-degree DWI-under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor charge for driving after revocation and a petty misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia were all  dismissed at the sentencing as part of a plea agreement reached on July 19.
