Owatonna man injured in two-vehicle accident near Hayfield Monday morning

An Owatonna man was injured in a two-vehicle accident near Hayfield Monday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2016 Freightliner semi truck and trailer being driven by 50-year old Jose Antonio Cruz of Los Angeles, California was northbound on Olmsted County Road 3 in Rock Dell Township at approximately 8:25 a.m. Monday morning, while a 2014 Nissan Ultima being driven by 38-year old Matthew Wayne Knudson of Owatonna was eastbound on Highway 30.  The State Patrol reported that the two vehicles collided at the intersection of the two roads, and Kundson was transported to Mayo Clinic/St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester after suffering non-life threatening injuries.  Cruz was uninjured, and the State Patrol indicated that both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.  

Sheriff’s Offices from Dodge and Olmsted County assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene.
