Two people have been seriously injured after a stabbing incident in northwest Austin this morning.

Officers from the Austin Police Department and deputies from the Mower County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call concerning a stabbing incident that occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. this morning in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue Northwest.  Police Captain Todd Clennon stated that two people were seriously injured during the incident and transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems of Austin.  Due to conflicting reports, it was initially indicated that one victim had died, however, Captain Clennon has since indicated that has not been verified.  Chief of Police David McKichan asked that the officers and EMS personnel on scene be allowed to continue their work and the streets in the area kept clear for those emergency responders.
