Oakdale woman sentenced to prison time on felony check forgery charge in Mower County District Court

An Oakdale woman who pleaded guilty to a felony check forgery charge in Mower County District Court after incidents that took place in Austin from August 9th to August 10th, 2022 has been sentenced to prison time.

29-year-old Barbara Jo Larson, who is currently incarcerated at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee was sentenced Thursday to 21 months in prison on a felony charge of check forgery.  Larson was convicted on the charge on August 28th of this year after pleading guilty the same day.  Judge Natalie Martinez determined that Larson will be allowed to serve the sentence concurrently with five additional 21-month sentences she is currently serving for a felony charge of financial transaction card fraud, use with no consent that she was convicted on in Olmsted County District Court on October 11th stemming from incidents that occurred on May 12th, May 14th and September 14th, 2022, and on March 24th and April 1st of this year.     

A felony charge for theft, taking, using or transferring movable property without consent stemming from an incident that took place in Austin on May 4th, 2022, and a gross misdemeanor charge for theft, taking, using or transferring movable property without consent stemming from the August 9th, 2022 incident against Larson were both dismissed with her guilty plea.
