Nine additional COVID-19 cases reported in Mower County Thursday for cumulative total of 4,992

Mower County logged 4,851 confirmed and 141 probable COVID-19 cases Thursday for a cumulative total of 4,992 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of nine from Wednesday, according to statistics released Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 44,204 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and just over 614,300 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County now has 14,252 cumulative cases, a jump of 54 from Wednesday, Steele County recorded 4,253 cumulative cases Thursday, a rise of 26 from Wednesday and Freeborn County reported 3,722 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up 16 from Wednesday.  Dodge County confirmed 2,051 cumulative cases Thursday, up seven from Wednesday and Fillmore County recorded 1,706 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up six from Wednesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,355 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Thursday for a cumulative total of 631,858, and they added that eight additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Wednesday to Thursday to 7,750 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 34,293 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 6.965 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
