The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced that all remaining 2019-20 regular season games have been canceled effective immediately due to the International medical emergency caused by COVID-19 and pandemic.
The NAHL’s regular season was scheduled to end on Sunday, April 4th.
Statement from NAHL Commissioner Mark Frankenfeld:
“We understand that this is a very difficult time for our hockey community and we are working on all options in order to conclude the season with a Robertson Cup Championship. We are actively and continuously monitoring a very challenging and fluid environment in order to make the right decision everyone involved.”
At this time, no decision has been made on the playoffs and whether or not they will continue as planned or with some modifications. The Bruins will officially finish 2019-20 in third place in the NAHL Central division with a record of 28-16-2-5 good enough for 63 points. If the playoffs are still a possibility, the Bruins would own the third seed in the NAHL Central Division and square off against the Bismarck Bobcats. Keep an eye on the Bruins and NAHL social media pages for updates as the league and its member clubs monitor this unprecedented situation.
