Mower County records 42nd COVID-19 related death, 14 additional cases Thursday for cumulative total of 6,581

The Minnesota Department of Health reported Thursday that Mower County has recorded its 42nd COVID-19 related death in an individual 55-59 years of age, and they added that the county recorded 6,368 confirmed and 213 probable COVID-19 cases Thursday for a cumulative total of 6,581 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 14 from Wednesday.   Health officials added that 49,345 healthcare workers in the state have now tested  positive for the virus, and over 757,300 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County reported 18,534 cumulative cases Thursday, a rise of 66 from Wednesday, Steele County recorded 5,969 cumulative cases Thursday, up 38 from Wednesday and Freeborn County confirmed 4,955 cumulative COViD-19 cases Thursday, up 16 from Wednesday.  Dodge County now has 2,796 cumulative cases, up 15 from Wednesday and Fillmore County reported 2,519 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up nine from Wednesday.  

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,690 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Thursday for a cumulative total of 784,233, and they added that 41 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Wednesday to Thursday for a cumulative total of 8.653 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 41,026 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 8,321 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
