Mower County records 41st COVID-19 related death, no new cases Friday for cumulative total of 6,454
The Minnesota Department of Health reported Friday that Mower County has logged its 41st COVID-19 related death in an individual 80-84 years of age, and they also noted that the county had no new COVID-19 cases Friday to keep the county’s cumulative case total at 6,454. Health officials added that 48,998 healthcare workers have now tested positive for the virus, and just over 742,000 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.
Olmsted County recorded 18,144 cumulative cases Friday, up 17 from Thursday, Steele County reported 5,858 cumulative cases Friday, up six from Thursday and Freeborn County confirmed 4,877 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up one from Thursday. Dodge County now has 2,735 cumulative cases, up two from Thursday and Fillmore County recorded 2,439 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up seven from Thursday.
The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,150 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 770,246, and they added that 22 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 8,537 since the onset of the pandemic. A total of 40,442 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 8,219 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
