Mower County one of 15 Minnesota counties to average 60 bushels or more of soybeans per acre in 2022

The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service recently reported that Faribault County led all Minnesota counties in total soybean production in 2022 with 11.1 million bushels.  

Polk at 11.0 million, Redwood at 10.6 million, Renville at 10.5 million and Martin at 10.3 million rounded out the top five counties with the highest production. Statewide, fifteen counties, Mower among them, averaged at least 60.0 bushels per acre. Steele County had the highest yield with an average of 63.0 bushels per acre. Blue Earth at 62.5, Martin at 62.4, Winona at 62.2 and Olmsted at 62.0 rounded out the top five highest yielding counties.  Mower County saw 152,300 acres of soybeans harvested in 2022, with a total yield of 9.26 million bushels, or an average yield of 60.8 bushels per acre.

Aitkin County recorded the lowest average yield at 27.7 bushels per acre in 2022.
