Mower County Historical Society to feature virtual tours of Mower County Fair

The Mower County Fair was to have been held this week at the Fairgrounds in Austin, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it joined the list of canceled county fairs around the state last month.  The Mower County Historical Society is looking to keep those interested in the fair engaged this week with several virtual tours being broadcast from the fairgrounds on their Facebook page.  Randy Forster, the Executive Director of the Historical Society stated to KAUS that the virtual tours will start Tuesday at noon with the tractor show…

Forster went on to state that the President of the Historical Society will be featured Tuesday morning from the Excelsior School Building on the fairgrounds…

Forster stated that virtual events Wednesday will include one from the Hormel Building on the fairgrounds, and another will be a Humpday History feature at noon from the original Mower County Fair building…

The presentations can be viewed on the Historical Society’s Facebook page at facebook@mowercohistory, and they will also be posted on their webpage at mowercountyhistory.org.
