Mower County Health and Human Services continues to oversee administration of COVID-19 vaccine in the county

Mower County Health and Human Services received approximately 400 additional doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from the Minnesota Department of Health Tuesday, so a vaccination clinic will be held Thursday at the Austin Holiday Inn Convention Center.  KAUS News spoke with Pam Kellogg, Division Manager with Mower County Health and Human Services, who stated that the vaccine will be distributed to a targeted group….

Kellogg went on to state that residents of the county age 65 and older can log on to the county’s website to put themselves on a waiting list to receive the vaccine…

Kellogg stated that Mower County Health and Human Services will be looking to vaccinate other targeted groups next week if a request for additional doses is approved..

To register for the wait list, log on to www.co.mower.mn.us, and click on the “COVID-19 vaccination wait list for Mower County residents 65 and over” link on the front of the page.  At last word, Minnesota has administered the coronavirus vaccine to over 195,000 people, and over 38,000 people have received both shots of the vaccine, which is required for maximum effectiveness.
