Mower County Board approves $773,000 in business relief grants to 77 businesses in Mower County

The Mower County Board of Commissioners approved $773,000 in business relief grants at their Tuesday meeting to be distributed to 77 businesses throughout the county.  KAUS News spoke with Mower County Administrator Trish Harren, who talked about what businesses were given priority in this round of grand funding, and she went on to state that with the amount of financial loss local businesses have incurred, she hopes that additional COVID-19 relief funds will be provided by the federal government….

Harren went on to state that if a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package is passed on the federal level that would include additional funding for state and local governments, Mower County would stand to receive a considerably larger amount of relief funds in this next round…

The grants were made possible through funding allocated by the Minnesota Legislature to provide relief to local private businesses impacted by the State of Minnesota Executive Order 20-99, which went into effect on November 20th, 2020.
