The Mower County Elections Office is currently open 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday for in-person absentee voting and for absentee and mail ballot dropoff.

The Mower County Elections Office is located in Austin City Hall at 500 4th Ave. NE, across from the new YMCA and Rec Center. Do not go to the Mower County Government Center for election related items this year.

The Elections Office will be open additional times for in-person absentee voting and absentee/mail ballot drop-off. Those times are:

Thursday, Oct. 29 from 8 am – 7 pm;

Saturday, Oct. 31 from 10 am – 3 pm; and

Monday, Nov. 2 from 8 am – 5 pm.

Mower County Auditor/Treasurer Scott Felten stated that absentee voting is not allowed at the Elections Office on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3. Voters must vote at their designated polling location on Election Day. For all City of Austin voters, Election Day voting will take place at the Austin Holiday Inn Conference Center.

However, absentee ballots may be dropped off at the Elections Office until 3 pm on Election Day, Nov.3.

Voters who requested absentee ballots are strongly encouraged to complete and return their absentee ballots so that they are received in the Elections Office by Election Day, Nov. 3.
