Month-long extra distracted driving enforcement campaign underway in Minnesota

To increase awareness and change dangerous driving behaviors, law enforcement agencies across Minnesota have begun a month-long extra distracted driving enforcement campaign. Mike Hanson Office of Traffic Safety director says while many Minnesotans are doing their part behind the wheel, others continue to display dangerous driving behaviors:

The Austin Police Department and the Mower County Sheriff’s Office are among the law enforcement  agencies from around the state that are taking part in the month-long campaign.  Hanson says distracted driving contributes to an average of 31 deaths and 192 life-changing injuries a year (2016-2020).
