Members of Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team wrap up season at State Class A meet at the University of Minnesota Friday

Individuals from the Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2022 season at the State Class A meet at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center at the University of Minnesota Friday, and senior Olivia Walsh capped off a fantastic career by placing seventh in the 50 freestyle Friday with a time of 24.68 seconds, and she finished ninth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.92.  Monticello eighth-grader Adalynn Biegler took first in both events for the Magic with a time of 23.14 seconds in the 50 freestyle, and 51.28 seconds in the 100 freestyle, .63 ahead of junior Piper Crosby of the Breck School.

Sophomores Reese Norton and Alayna Kennedy competed for the Packers in the 1-meter diving finals Friday, and Norton finished 12th with a final score of 329.20, whle Kennedy was 13th with a final tally of 325.60.  Senior Avery Lommel from Delano took first with a final score of 380.65, 18.6 points clear of second place Grace Marek of Two Rivers, as the junior finished with 362.05 points.

Visitation was the runaway winner of the Class A team title with 397 points, with Delano a distant second with 194.5 points.
