MDH reports two additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 4,534

Mower County logged 4,411 confirmed and 123 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 4,534 since the onset of the pandemic, up two from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that 40,852 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 539,700 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 12,871 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, a rise of 27 from Thursday, Steele County now has 3,687 cumulative cases, up 14 from Thursday, Freeborn County recorded 3,311 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up eight from Thursday, Dodge County reported 1,737 cumulative cases Friday, up three from Thursday and Fillmore County now has 1,524 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up one for the second straight day Friday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,167 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 546,584, and they added that Minnesota’s death toll from the coronavirus rose by 10 for a second straight day Friday to 7,064 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 29,589 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the pandemic started, and 6,023 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
