MDH reports nine additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 4,657

Mower County logged 4,530 confirmed and 127 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 4,657 since the onset of the pandemic, up nine from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Pam Kellogg, Division Manager wiht Mower County Health and Human Services reported that there are currently approximately 50 active COVID-19 cases in the county.  Health officials stated that 42,141 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and just over 575,100 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 13,242 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, a rise of 17 from Thursday, Steele County reported 3,883 cumulative cases Friday, up 16 from Thursday, Freeborn County now has 3,417 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up two from Thursday, Dodge County confirmed 1,849 cumulative cases Friday, up four from Thursday and Fillmore County recorded 1,563 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up four from Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,306 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 592,750, and they added that nine additional COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the state from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 7,283 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 31,315 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 6,371 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
