MDH reports 59th COVID-19 related death in Mower County Tuesday; 322 additional cases for cumulative total of 10,554

The Minnesota Department of Health reported Tuesday that Mower County has recorded its 59th COVID-19 related death in an individual 85 to 89 years of age, and they added that the county also recorded 10,139 confirmed and 415 probable COVID-19 cases Tuesday for a cumulative total of 10,554 since the onset of the pandemic, a jump of 322 from Monday.  Health officials stated that the total number of positive cases, including reinfections for the duration of the pandemic  now stands at 1,264,935, and over 1,211,000 people have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 34,274 cumulative cases Tuesday, a spike of 1,161 from Monday, Steele County reported 9,044 cumulative cases Tuesday, a rise of 244 from Monday and Freeborn County confirmed 7,855 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 240 from Monday.  Dodge County now has 4,907 cumulative cases, a rise of 151 from Monday and Fillmore County recorded 4,048 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 79 from Monday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 35,504 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Tuesday for a cumulative total of 1,233,000, and they added that 37 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Monday to Tuesday for a cumulative total of 11,230 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 55,642 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 10,548 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
