MDH records eight additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Wednesday for cumulative total of 4,811
Mower County logged 4,673 confirmed and 138 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 4,811 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of eight from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health. Health officials added that 43,516 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 603,200 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.
Olmsted County recorded 13,691 cumulative cases Wednesday, up 13 from Tuesday, Steele County reported 4,042 cumulative cases Wednesday, up ten from Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,568 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, a rise of six from Tuesday. Dodge County now has 1,939 cumulative cases, up one from Tuesday and Fillmore County recorded 1,628 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, an increase of five from Tuesday.
The Minnesota Department of Health reported 936 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 615,923, and they added that five additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Tuesday to Wednesday for a cumulative total of 7,683 since the onset of the pandemic. A total of 33,485 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 6,781 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
