MDH records COVID-19 death in Mower County for the third straight day Thursday, in addition to 17 new cases

The Minnesota Department of Health recorded a COVID-19 related death in Mower County for the third consecutive day Thursday, its 67th since the onset of the pandemic in an individual 75-79 years of age.  The Department of Health also logged 11,119 confirmed and 485 probable COVID-19 cases in the county Thursday for a cumulative total of 11,604, a rise of 17 from Wednesday.  Health officials stated that the total number of positive cases, including reinfections for the duration of the pandemic now stands at 1,402,439, and over 1,373,000 people have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 39,103 cumulative cases Thursday, a rise of 84 from Wednesday, Steele County reported 10,097 cumulative cases Thursday, up 12 from Wednesday and Freeborn County confirmed 8,782 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up 19 from Wednesday.  Dodge County now has 5,509 cumulative cases, up eight from Wednesday and Fillmore County recorded 4,536 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, also up eight from Wednesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,853 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Thursday for a cumulative total of 1,345,353, and they added that 27 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Wednesday to Thursday for a cumulative total of 11,930 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 59,743 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 11,075 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
