MDH records 37 additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 7,400

Mower County logged 7,155 confirmed and 245 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 7,400 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 37 from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Pam Kellogg, Division Manager with Mower County Health and Human Services reported that there are currently 160 active COVID-19 cases in the county at last word.  Health officials added that the total positive cases for the duration of the pandemic, including reinfections, now total 926,931, and over 883,500 people have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 22,677 cumulative cases Friday, a jump of 174 from Thursday, Steele County reported 6,950 cumulative cases Friday, up 58 from Thursday and Freeborn County confirmed 5,699 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, a rise of 52 from Thursday.   Dodge County now has 3,664 cumulative cases, up 21 from Friday and Fillmore County recorded 3,101 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up 27 from Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 5,685 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 916,317, and they added that 62 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 9,616 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 46,623 COVID-19 patients in the state have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 9,263 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
