MDH records 31 additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 6,137

Mower County logged 5,943 confirmed and 194 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 6,137 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 31 from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 47,615 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 701,900 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 17,275 cumulative cases Friday, up 82 from Thursday, Steele County reported 5,555 cumulative cases Friday, up 35 from Thursday and Freeborn County confirmed 4,672 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up 22 from Thursday.  Dodge County now has 2,604 cumulative cases, up six from Thursday and Fillmore County recorded 2,193 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up 13 from Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 3,661 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 735,646, and they added that 20 additional COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the state from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 8,295 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 38,906 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 7,868 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
