MDH records 29 additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 5,021

Mower County logged 4,880 confirmed and 141 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 5,021 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 29 from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 44,272 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 614,900 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 14,358 cumulative cases Friday, a jump of 107 from Thursday, Steele County reported 4,284 cumulative cases Friday, up 32 from Thursday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,741 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up 18 from Thursday.  Dodge County now has 2,068 cumulative cases, a rise of 17 from Thursday and Fillmore County recorded 1,716 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up 10 from Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Health 1,708 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 633,556, and they added that 10 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 7,760 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 34,372 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 6,984 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
