MDH records 131 additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Thursday for cumulative total of 10,845

Mower County recorded 10,414 confirmed and 431 probable COVID-19 cases Thursday for a cumulative total of 10,845 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 131 from Wednesday, according to statistics released Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that the total number of positive cases, including reinfections for the duration of the pandemic  now stands at 1,295,117, and over 1,228,000 people have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County reported 35,467 cumulative cases Thursday, a jump of 413 from Wednesday, Steele County recorded 9,279 cumulative cases Thursday, a rise of 102 from Wednesday and Freeborn County confirmed 8,067 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up 104 from Wednesday.  Dodge County now has 5,069 cumulative cases, up 58 from Wednesday and Fillmore County reported 4,153 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up 31 from Wednesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 14,633 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Thursday for a cumulative total of 1,250,023, and they added that 57 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Wednesday to Thursday for a cumulative total of 11,339 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 56,324 COVId-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 10,623 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
