COVID-19 hospitalizations in Minnesota are back at peak levels.  KAUS News spoke with Dr. Deepi Goyal, Regional Chair of Practice with Mayo Clinic Health Systems who stated that he sees the recent increases in positive cases and hospitalizations in Minnesota as not a second wave of the virus, as some have stated, but instead an increase in case positivity rates….

Dr. Goyal went on to state that another reason for the sharp increases in the numbers of positive cases and hospitalizations due to the virus in Minnesota is fatigue….

Latest figures show 614 hospital beds in Minnesota being used for coronavirus patients — including 149 in I-C-U.  About two-thirds of the state’s immediately available I-C-U capacity is being used for patients with COVID as well as other medical problems.  2,178 new COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths were reported in Minnesota on Tuesday.
