Mayo Clinic Health System gave a situation update concerning the COVID-19 pandemic Tuesday, and Dr. Amy Williams, Executive Dean of Mayo Clinic Practice stated to KAUS News that following the Thanksgiving holiday, though not in the clear just yet, they are seeing things level off to a ‘steady state’ across the Midwest…

Williams went on to state that staff absences due to the coronavirus decreased this week, but remain a significant concern…

Williams also talked about COVID-19 patient care numbers for not only southeastern Minnesota, but the midwest as well….

Williams stated at last word, the Rochester Hospital Operations Command Center reported that Mayo Clinic Health System hospitals in southeastern Minnesota were treating 16 COVID-19 patients, including five in the ICU.  The number of COVID-19 patients discharged from Mayo’s Midwest hospitals to date is 2,295, and Williams added that Mayo has started monoclonal antibody treatments for newly diagnosed patients who have a high risk of hospitalization, and have treated over 340 patients so far at their Midwest facilities.
