Mayo Clinic facilities going “Mayo blue” during COVID-19 pandemic
In honor and support of our communities and dedicated staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayo Clinic Health System in both Albert Lea and Austin will join other Mayo Clinic facilities in going “Mayo blue.” Front entrances areas in both locations will be lighted in blue beginning at dusk Friday, March 27, in conjunction with the activation of the Minnesota statewide shelter in place order.
The Plummer Building in Rochester, Mayo Clinic Hospital in Arizona, and the sign at the main entrance to Mayo Clinic in Florida are among other locations joining together to show their sign of support and solidarity for staff working during the pandemic.
The lighting will continue for the foreseeable future to demonstrate our ongoing support and a sign that Mayo’s highest priority continues to be centered on the safety and strength of our staff, patients and community. It is also a reminder to everyone to do what they can to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
