A Mapleview man who pleaded guilty to a pair of gross misdemeanor charges for domestic assault and violation of a domestic abuse no-contact order in Mower County District Court after assaulting a female at an apartment in the 500 block of 5th Avenue Northwest in Austin on the evening of September 24th, 2019  has been sentenced to supervised probation on each charge.

24-year old Frederick Dujuan Jefferson was sentenced to two years of supervised probation and just over $500 in fines and fees for a gross misdemeanor domestic assault charge.   Judge Kevin Siefken stayed 340 days of a one-year jail sentence for two years, and Jefferson was given credit for 25 days already served.  Jefferson was also sentenced to two years of supervised probation for a gross misdemeanor charge of violating a domestic abuse no-contact order.  Judge Siefken stayed 355 days of a one-year jail sentence for two years, and Jefferson was given credit for 10 days already served.

Jefferson pleaded guilty to the charges in December of 2020, and Judge Siefken determined that Jefferson can serve his sentences concurrently.  Felony charges of 3rd degree assault, substantial bodily harm and domestic assault by strangulation, plus a gross misdemeanor charge for violation of a domestic abuse no-contact order in the case were dismissed with Jefferson’s guilty pleas in the case.
