Lyle/Pacelli softball edges GMLOK 6-5

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics softball team was on the road to Spring Valley Tuesday for a Southeast Conference game against GMLOK, and it was the Athletics edging the Bulldogs 6-5.

Alana Rogne helped to lead the way to the win for LP as she was 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored, a walk and a stolen base, McKenzie Schaefer went 2 for 3 with two RBI’s, a run scored and two stolen bases, Lilly VaDeer went 1 for 4 for the Athletics with a double, a run and a run knocked in, Sara Douglas was 1 for 3 with a walk, Kearah Schafer drew two walks out of the leadoff spot in the order, plus she also stole three bases and scored two runs, and Avari Drennan and Hailee Schaefer both scored runs as well for LP in the win.

Drennan earned the win in the circle for Lyle/Pacelli as she pitched all seven innings and gave up the five Bulldog runs, one earned on five hits, striking out nine and walking one.

The win gives the Athletics a 3-1 record overall and a 2-1 mark in the Southeast Conference.  Lyle/Pacelli will be back on the road for their next game at Mabel-Canton Friday, with first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
