The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics, the No. 16 seed in the Section 1A girls’ basketball tournament played host to 17th seeded Schaeffer Academy in a first-round game Tuesday evening, and Kirsten Koopal led three Athletics in double figures with 15 points as LP advanced into the second round of the tournament with a 51-43 win.
Koopal added five rebounds, one steal and one assist in the winning effort last night, while Kearah added 12 points, six rebounds and a steal, Alana Rogne chipped in 11 points, five rebounds, three steals, three assists and one blocked shot, Kendahl Lewis scored seven points and Emma Wilde added six points for Lyle/Pacelli, who moved to 3-16 overall on the season with the win.
The Athletics return to action Thursday night in Houston against the No. 1 seeded Hurricanes, with tip-off at 7: 00 p.m.
