Lyle/Pacelli boys’ basketball stays red-hot with 64-24 win over Houston Friday night

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys’ basketball team was looking for win number six in a row Friday night at All Saints Arena against the Houston Hurricanes in a Southeast Conference matchup, and guard Jake Truckenmiller helped to lead the way with 28 points, three assists and five steals as the Athletics rolled by the Hurricanes 64-24.
Lyle/Pacelli continued its torrid shooting during their current win streak as they finished 24 for 45 overall from the field for 53.3%, including an incredible 19 of 26 from 2-point range for 73.1%. The Athletics led 35-16 at the half, and besides Truckenmiller’s 28 points, Mac Nelson added nine points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal, Trey Anderson chipped in eight points, four rebounds, two assists and four steals, Buay Koak tallied six points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals and three blocked shots, Landon Meyer and Mitchell Johnson each scored three points, Hunter VaDeer and Hunter Bauer each contributed two points and Luke Weaver registered one point for the Athletics, who are now 13-1 in the Southeast Conference and 18-3 overall on the season with the win.
Lyle/Pacelli will go for win number seven in a row Monday night at home in a non-conference matchup against Alden/Conger from the Valley Conference, with the varsity tip-off scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
