Lyle/Pacelli boys’ basketball falls to Lanesboro 62-59 Tuesday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys’ basketball team, the first-place team in the Southeast Conferences’ West Division played host to the Lanesboro Burros, the second-place team in the East Division Tuesday night in Lyle, and it was the Burros rallying in the second half to end the Athletic’s 6-game winning streak 62-59.

Three Athletics were in double figures in scoring as guard Buay Koak led the way with 23 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and three blocked shots, Jake Truckenmiller added 22 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals, Mac Nelson tallied 13 points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal and David Christianson scored one point for LP, who were 18-30 shooting for 60%, but they were only 4 for 14 from behind the 3-point arc for 28.6% and just 11-21 from the free-throw line for 52.4% in the loss.

The Athletics, who led 36-35 at the half are still a half-game ahead of Southland in the West Division race at 8-1, and they are 12-3 overall on the season.  Lyle/Pacelli returns to action at Pacelli High School Friday night versus Glenville/Emmons, with varsity tip-off set for 7:15 p.m.  You’ll hear the game on AM 1480 KAUS, with the pre-game show at 7:00 p.m. and tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
