Lyle/Pacelli baseball out to 5-0 start with 11-1, 5-inning win over GMLOK Tuesday

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics baseball team was looking to start the season at 5-0 Tuesday if they could pick up a win over GMLOK in a Southeast Conference matchup in Spring Valley, and the Athletics accomplished just that with a 11-1, five-inning win.

Senior Zach Bollingberg was a one-man wrecking crew for the Athletics Tuesday as not only did he strike out 12 batters in a complete game win on the mound, he also was 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and 4 RBI’s to help his own cause.   Sam Nelsen also contributed to LP’s 11-hit attack by going 3 for 4 with a double, a RBI and three runs scored, Jed Nelson was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored, Mac Nelson went 1 for 3 and accounted for three RBI’s plus a run scored, Cole Walter was 1 for 2 with three runs scored, Jayden Lewis was 1 for 3 with a double and Landon Meyer was also 1 for 3 with a run scored.

The Athletics will be back in action on Thursday afternoon at Marcusen Park in Austin against Mabel-Canton, and you’ll hear the game on AM 1480 KAUS, with the pre-game show coming your way at 4:20 p.m., and first pitch at 4:30 p.m.  You can also listen to the game on our webpage via streaming at myausitnminnesota.com, and you can also tune in on the I Heart Radio and Radio.com apps.
