Lyle/Pacelli Athletics football team downs Houston 30-6 on Homecoming Friday evening for third win in a row

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics football team played host to the Houston Hurricanes for their annual Homecoming game in Lyle Friday evening, and Athletics quarterback Jake Truckenmiller three three touchdown passes and ran for a touchdown as well to help lead LP to their third win in a row, 30-6.

Truckenmiller found David Christianson in the end zone for his first touchdown pass with 1:36 left in the first quarter to give Lyle/Pacelli a 6-0 lead, and his second TD pass of the game, a 17-yarder to Trey Anderson with only :34 left in the first half put LP in front 14-0 after Anderson’s 2-point conversion run.  Truckenmiller found Anderson in the end zone from 5 yards out with 6:29 left in the third to give the Athletics a 22-0 lead after Truckenmiller added the 2-point conversion, and a 36-yard touchdown run and a 2-point conversion run by Truckenmiller with under a minute to go in the game boosted LP’s lead to 30-0.  A last-second touchdown run by Houston’s Rysen Gorman accounted for the 30-6 final.

For the game, Truckenmiller passing was 5 for 12 for 48 yards and the three touchdowns, and Anderson led the Athletics in rushing with 25 carries for 127 yards, and Hunter Bauer added 13 carries for 73 yards.  Anderson also led Lyle/Pacelli in receiving with three catches for 31 yards and the two touchdowns.

Lyle/Pacelli is now 3-2 on the season, and the Athletics will look for win number four in a row next Friday night in Spring Valley versus Kinglsand, with kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
