Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team routs Lanesboro 72-48 Tuesday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team was looking to get back on the winning side of the ledger Tuesday evening as they played host to the Lanesboro Burros in a Southeast Conference matchup at All Saints Arena, and forward Dylan Christianson led four Athletics in double figures with 20 points as Lyle/Pacelli avenged a double-overtime loss to the Burros earlier this season and them some as they rolled to a 72-48 win.

The Athletics never trailed in the game as they jumped out to a 10-1 lead to start the contest, and they then went on a 22-8 run to open a 23-point lead at 32-9.  LP led 42-24 at halftime, and they opened the second half on a 17-9 run to push their lead to 26 points at 59-33, and the lead never dipped below 24 points the rest of the way.

Besides Christianson’s 20 points, he added six rebounds, one assist, three steals and a team-high two blocked shots, Landon Meyer pumped in 15 points, plus he added five rebounds, six assists and one steal, Marshall Burma was a perfect 3 for 3 from 3-point range on his way to 13 points, Chase Bauer totaled 11 points, six rebounds, a team-high seven assists and two steals, Isaac Nelsen contributed eight points and seven rebounds, Andrew Fredrick scored four points, and Grayson Bickler tallied one point in the win.

The Athletics are now 8-9 overall on the season with the win, and 6-6 in the Southeast Conference, and Lyle/Pacelli returns to action Thursday night as they kick off a three-game road swing in Spring Valley versus Kingsland, with the tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
