Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team falls to Lanesboro 77-76 in 2 OT’s Thursday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team was in search of win number two in a row Thursday evening as they traveled to Lanesboro to take on the Burros in a Southeast Conference matchup, and in a two-overtime thriller, it was the Burros scoring the last four points of the second overtime period to pull out a 77-76 win.

The Athletics had three players register double-doubles Thursday evening as Chase Bauer led LP in scoring with 24 points, plus he also pulled in 10 rebounds and added four assists and one steal, Landon Meyer totaled 21 points, a team-high 17 rebounds, three assists and two steals, Dylan Christianson put up a stat line of 13 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and all five of LP’s blocked shots for the contest, Andrew Fredrick drained two of Lyle/Pacelli’s 10 3-pointers on his way to nine points, plus he chipped in five rebounds and one assist, Isaac Nelsen scored four points, Leland Hicks drained a 3-pointer for three points, and Marshall Burma finished with two points.

With the loss, the Athletics are now 2-1 in the Southeast Conference and 4-3 overall, and they return to action Saturday afternoon in Rochester versus Schaeffer Academy in the Southeast Conference, with tip-off at 1:00 p.m.
