Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team falls to Kingsland 63-44 Monday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team was looking for win number two in a row at All Saints Arena Monday evening as they played host to the Kingsland Knights in the Southeast Conference in their final game before the Christmas break, but it was the Knights pulling away in the second half on their way to a 63-44 win.

The Athletics held an 18-11 lead in the first half when the Knights went on a 13-0 run to take 24-18 lead, and they led 30-22 at the halftime break before outscoring LP 15-6 to start the second half to take their biggest lead of the game to that point at 45-30.  The Knights then pulled away from there as a 14-8 run increased their lead to 59-38 late in the second half on their way to the win.

Landon Meyer was the lone Athletic in double figures Monday evening with 22 points, Dylan Christianson totaled nine points, Andrew Fredrick added six points, Chase Bauer chipped in five points, and Isaac Small scored two points in the loss.

With the loss, the Athletics are now 5-4 overall on the season and 3-2 in the Southeast Conference, and Lyle/Pacelli is now off until Thursday, January 4th when they will host defending Section 1A champion Spring Grove, with tip-off scheduled for 7:15 p.m. that evening.
