Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team downed by Kingsland 66-57 Thursday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team faced a stern road test in the Southeast Conference Thursday night as they traveled to Spring Valley to take on a Kingsland team that came into the game tied with Southland for the West Division lead, and with the game tied at 57 late in the second half, the Knights were able to reel off a 9-0 run to end the game and win by a score of 66-57.

The Athletics had four players in double figures in scoring, led by Dylan Christianson, who totaled 16 points, eight rebounds and one blocked shot, Isaac Nelsen tallied 12 points, Landon Meyer registered a double-double of 11 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and one blocked shot, Chase Bauer chipped in 10 points, three rebounds, a team-high five assists and one steal, Leland Hicks drained a pair of 3’s for six points, and Marshall Burma scored two points.

With the loss, the Athletics are now 8-10 overall on the season and 6-7 in the Southeast Conference, and LP wraps up a three-game road swing tonight (Friday) in Rochester versus Schaeffer Academy in a Southeast Conference matchup, with the varsity tip-off scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
