Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball downs Kingsland 80-49 Friday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team was looking to keep their record unblemished Friday night as they traveled to Spring Valley to take on Kingsland in a Southeast Conference matchup, and it was the Athletics bolting out of the gate on a 14-2 run to take a lead they would not relinquish in a 80-49 win.

The Athletics, who led 37-29 at the halftime break opened the second half on a 16-4 run to open up a 53-33 lead on their way to the win, and LP had five players in double figures in scoring, led by Jake Truckenmiller, who provided 20 points, six rebounds and seven assists, Trey Anderson tallied 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals, Buay Koak put up 15 points, seven rebounds, one assist, a team-high four steals and a blocked shot, Landon Meyer sccored 11 points, plus he added two rebounds, two assists and two steals, Hunter Bauer also scored 11 points for the Athletics Friday night, plus he chipped in five rebounds, three steals and a team-high two blocked shots, David Christianson tallied three points, Dylan Christianson added two points and Andrew Frederick scored one point in the win.

Lyle/Pacelli is now 5-0 overall and 5-0 in the Southeast Conference, and the Athletics are back in action in Lyle next Tuesday versus Schaeffer Academy in a Southeast Conference matchup, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
