Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys baskeball team upends Wabasha-Kellogg 56-50 Monday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team was looking to snap a two-game losing streak Monday evening as they kicked off a regular season-ending two-game homestand versus Wabasha-Kellogg out of the Three Rivers Conference, and it was the Athletics going on a late 9-3 run to upend the Falcons 56-50.

The Athletics saw four players reach double digits in scoring Monday evening, as forward Dylan Christianson led the way with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds, plus he registered the only blocked shot of the game for the squad, Landon Meyer totaled 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one steal, Isaac Nelsen tallied 12 points, six rebounds and a team-high two steals, Chase Bauer racked up a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds, as the Athletics outrebounded the Falcons 48-23 for the game, Leland Hicks drained a 3-pointer for three points, and Andrew Fredrick added one point and six boards in the win.

With the victory, the Athletics are now 12-14 on the season, and the club will wind up the regular season at All Saints Arena Friday night versus Southland in a Southeast Conference clash, with varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
